Had that happen to an old 66 1/2 ton years ago. Big doe dead center of the front end.
I think that really is the worst kind of accident. You can't blame some dumb ass driver and you can't blame yourself for making a mistake, it just sorta happens and you're stuck with a truck that needs repair. Sorry to hear it man. Good lcuk with the parts hunt. |

Yeah, once had a kangaroo do the same thing! Deployed to Australia in '88, was driving my CUCV (M1009 Chevy 3/4T Blazer) along a wooded road, and BAM - right into the passenger side door. Scared the crap out of me, and I look in the rear view mirror to see a big red 'roo shaking it off. One of these:
They look cute in pics, but the one that hit me was about 4' tall, and they can hurt you if they want. Put a big dent in the door, then slowly hopped away. Try explaining that one to the motor sergeant... SSOW

Peter: Remember that time I hit that deer.
Peter to the deer: Do you have insurance? (joke from Family Guy) That sucks man. We have a lot of deer around here; always worried one of those guys is gonna jump out in front of me.

Well, if he messed your truck up, did you at least pick him up to eat him?

man that sux.........on another note, i have a buddy who totalled the front end of his airbagged truck when he hit a 11' gator crossing the highway in the early am. by the time he saw it, there was nothing he could do, he had an 18 wheeler in the lane next to him. damn gator did about 14 grand worth of damage......one of the downfalls of living in florida i guess.........the deer here aren't very big but those damn gators are lol

Bad luck for sure, be glad it was not a moose. A big problem here, two people on motorcycles, two different occasions, were killed by hitting them this summer.

that sucks big time. My g/f has now named my olds "bambi killer" because this weekend when I was taking her back to school, it was in the evening and I ran over a baby. It was probably 30-45 lbs, and I hit it at 60 mph. Not a dent.

man I think we have all hit a deer at one time, I nailed a deer at 70 mph in my 73 Chevelle, did surprising little damage to the car, killed the deer, filled the freezer , I have seen people who hit elk and moose in a few body shops and the way the car looks it more like the elk hit them

back in Ill. I hit a deer with my '80K20 doing about 50mph. the damn thing even bent my ex-military grill guard. (you should have seen this truck, more testosterone than the state of TX & uglier than Carrottop)
does regular liability cover damages or do you need to sell your first born to pay for repairs?
