oil pan
is there anything to removeing the oil pan other then draining oil, takeing bolts off like puting on/off valve covers? or do I have to remove other things to get it off.. I am thinking about puting a new oil pick up and pan gasket and cleaning the pan out. thank you

Depends on the oil pan gasket(s) you use but yeah that's basically all there is to it. Its not real hard its just some of the positions you have to get into. To reinstall the bolts I used a deep well socket stuffed with some paper towel and a long extension. I put just enough paper towel in the socket that the bolt would go into the socket but not much. It helped out a lot on the ones you can't reach to finger tighten them. For the oil pan gasket I used a Felpro (permaseal?) One piece oil pan gasket. Its like 25.00 but you get all new hard ware, four screw in plastic pens that align the oil pan up and the gasket.

Very cool. I .looked up that gasket and its Perma-Dry Plus and will set me back a lill under 30. looks like a realy good set! thank you for the tips! Matt
