any idea if this makes any difference on a step side? I've heard the stepside beds have less tire room but never had this confirmed...

I have 18x8's up front with 4.5" bs and 18x9.5's on the rear with 5.25" bs. With a 285/40 tire on the rear, the tuck perfectly. 5.5" would work good with a 9.5" wheel but wouldn't go any less than 5.25" if you want them to tuck.

Yes, there is less room on a step side. I believe an 8" wheel is max. on a lowered truck.

Slammed67- Do you have any pictures with that wheel combo? That's exactly what I plan to run. 18x8 up front and 18x9.5 on the rear with the 305 45 18" drag radial out back. I'll have to measure the wheel opening. I currently have a 325 50 15 drag radial on a 10.5" rim... It definalty doesn't tuck but the tread with is more like 12"...
