argh, this truck makes me want to rip my hair out!!!

I spent $1350 getting the trans in my 84 Bonneville daily driver back in Sept. I got it out of the shop on a Tuesday. Friday nite at the cruise in, it came home on a tow truck, it had sprung a huge coolant leak. Then, while backing it off the rollback, the brake pedal went to the floor. Talk about frustrated, but now everything is fixed and the car is running good, and the best part is the $1350 would only cover a few months payments on a new vehicle. I like not owing anything on any of my 3 vehicles. I also like the inexpensive repair bills on all my cars when one does have to go to a shop, because they're all old. BTW, I don't think the trans rebuild was out of line, how many 20 year old cars does anyone know that haven't had some major work done.

I know exactly what it's like too. I've had my truck for around 2 months now, and since then I've had to replace the battery, the harmonic balancer on the 454, the belts, and the starter. I know most of these are pretty common and aren't too hard to replace, but it's just the idea that having something go wrong every few weeks.... kind of frustrating sometimes! It is worth it however when you get something fixed properly and get in and it starts right up!!
