I was wondering if we could start a Tech fourm with HOW-TO stuff. Members could submit detailed instructions on the repairs or modifactions they have made.
What do ya think? |

There's pretty good info on the board now. These guys are pretty good about sharing their know-how.

If you go to the main starting page where it gives a full listing of the available boards, rather than just you see above, there is a FAQ board that may be what you are thinking about. It is not the easiest board to find so it doesn't get much traffic.
It's address is http://64.246.42.114/vboard/forumdis...?s=&forumid=28 Since it doesn't get much traffic, set it to show at least 100 days of topics. The basic idea of having a howto board is great.

It seems to me the whole board is really a tech forum... I don't see the need for a seperate one..

Keep the board as is, I like being able to see other peoples rides and learn a thing or two at the same time. If you add a tech section, I'll never look at it unless I need to do something in particular.

I vote for a tech section because the same questions keep getting asked over and over.
And besides, a tech section won't keep people from posting progress pics on their rides, will it? |

The trouble is, a FNG comes in, asks how to do a mod, we still respond by going to the page in the FAQ, and getting the url, then putting the URL in the thread responce.
Your still answering the question, and it may not be the same as the question poses. I say keep going. |

I was simply suggesting a way to make it eaiser to find the most requested info. Maybe the FAQ room is the place afterall. I just posted a few over there. |

Rip,
Sorry if I'm a little jumpy today, bad day battling with salvage yards. I can certainly see the frustration that some folks have when they need to get a tech answer, and have to weed through other stuff. My experience with forums has been that each one breeds its own level of insanity, and that you'll still have the same FNG's (like me) who are too lazy to search through the past, so we just ask the question again. Maybe I'm just lazy, but I like my one stop shopping...plus, I think I get more answers at a forum that has more people browsing. But that's just me, and I'm weird. So have a good night ![]()

A place to get basic info, like disc brack conversion, what 5 hole axles and what power steering will work on mine would be like a refrence to check out the basics, would be very useful. -
.my 2 cents worth
