OT: Diesel Hot start problem cranks and cranks no start
I have a 95 F-350 Power Stoke Diesel that I use at work. Most of the time we leave it running when we are getting in and out but if we are going to be out for a few hours we shut it off. Some times we have to go right back out again and when we try to start it it will crank and crank and crank, and then finally fire up. Some times it will crank and crank and crank and never start. I know this is off topic but there are alot of sharp gear heads here and I hope one of you knows the answer.

Could be getting air in the fuel system from a leak somewhere. That's usually what happens when a diesel gets to acting like that.
Or, Powerstrokes are bad about CPS sensors going out. Real bad about it. Upside is they are dirt cheap and easy to change.

Yeah, most likely either a fuel leak, or the CPS sensor. My bro in law has a 97 F250 SD with a powerstroke, and he had the same exact problem recently. All he needed to do was replace the CPS. Hopefully that's what the problem is with yours too...pretty easy fix, as Tx said.

Usually, the CPS gives symptoms driving down the road too, though.
I'd imagine it's a fuel leak. First place to look is the fuel filter housing. It's the part of the system that gets human hands put on it the most, so it's most liklely where the problem lies. I mean, no one ever takes the connections loose under the truck or at the high pressure fittings, it's always the filter. Sometimes, the o-ring gets damaged and goes tango uniform, which lets air leak in when you shut it off. A diesel with any air in it is an unhappy thing. All it takes is a tiny bit of air and you have troubles.

I have seen lots of those seven three power jokes with cracked fuel filter housings...but that doesnt sounds like your problem because you would have a fuel leak at both hot and cold starts...i am gonna go with the module..if that fails repost and i will get the service manual and try and help you out.
