Shop Manual
What shop manual do you recommend? I'll be picking up this '88 Suburban in a week or two, and went online to find a Helms manual for it, but nothing was listed.
What do you use? How thorough is it? Thanks. |

I bought the factory service manual for mine off of eBay. It was an odd title in the listing so I got it for next to nothing. It's the most complete reference for your truck. However, I went for years using only the Haynes manual. The Haynes manual for our trucks is actually pretty good and can be had for only $13 or so.
Chevy or GMC doesn't matter regarding the manuals.

What Helms?
Yeah, I've used Helms in the past on all my other vehicles. Problem is, when I went to their website all they offer for an '88 Burb is the owners manual.
I was looking for their full blown shop manual. I don't know why they don't carry it. |

????
Can you shoot me a link? I've tried every possible option, and the only thing I get for an 88 Burb, either GMC or Chevrolet is a $20 owners manual. Used the all types option. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Thanks |

Keep in mind when you search you are looking for a manual for a R/V truck not C/K. In 1988 the C/K trucks were the "new" body style and the R/V were the "old" body style (vent window trucks). The only thing I could find for the R/V trucks myself was the Kit. THe service manual you are looking for is ST330-88 I believe.

Ebay is the best place to find them....the burbs-k5's-and crew cabs were redifined aas the R-V series after the new body style on the 88 pick ups were released...
Get the shop manual...wiring diagnosis manual and the unit repair manual...i'll look at helm later...thought the set went for $125. DW
