This '88 Burb I'm looking at has a non functioning oil pressure gauge. Owner replaced the sending unit, nada. How hard is it to replace the gauge? My dad has a 91 GMC pickup and it acts up from time to time.

Anybody else experiencing gauge problems like this?

I have an 87 Burb I bought a few months ago and the oil pressure gauge doesn't work either. Must be an inherant problem with these. My Burb has 120,000 miles on it. I make sure I check the oil every 2 gas fills and keep driving. When it warms up here I might change the gauge and sender. My temp gauge doesn't work that well either, it only moves a quarter of the way up after 2 hours of highway speeds.Anyone else experience that problem as well.

Well, if you can confirm it's actually the gauge and not a problem with the sending signal (i.e. at the gauge itself), then replacing the gauge wouldn't be too hard. Basically, you'd just have to remove the gauge bezel and then the gauge cluster itself. It only requires a Phillips head screwdriver to get to that point. I can't remember if the gauge itself is held to the cluster panel with screws or nuts. Fortunately, my gauges have been OK over the years.
