What guage cluster will fit my 86 k10 305/700r4?
I need to get another guage cluster for the 86. The fuel guage jumps up and down alot on its own sometimes, the water temp. stays pegged part 260 even unplugged, and the oil guages bumps up or down when you hit bumps or thump the top of the dash. So yea they don't work or I surely wouldn't beleive em. LOL I need to know what ones/years will fit. I know I need to find the guage ones cuz its got guages not lights, and I think I'd have to make sure they was all elecrical ones right and no mechanicals except maybe fuel or speedo? I dunno on them but I know the oil sending unit plugs into electrical and not a oil line. So anyone know what ones to fit? What exactly I should look for or ask for?

Yea they are all brand new senders. That was the 1st thing we done, instead of checking them just replaced them with new ones. That was the oil and temp. ones.
After putting thoose in the temp. guage pegged out further then before. It was right past the last number on the right(hottest) now its pointing directly to the right, about a half inch below the hottest number. Oil pressure will sometimes run zero or pegged, if you thump the dash on top it'll jump up or down and stay there with the truck running and sometimes w/o. |

It sounds like a bad ground to me.check to make sure the ground is not broke.sometimes the wire will break and the coating is still good.when you hit the dash or a bump it would cause the gagues to do that.my 0.02

Where's the ground wire at back there? I ain't had it out and its a pin to remove w/ my cd player and all so I would preffer to check w/o removing the guages.

I haven't found out anything yet on the guages. Another set or even checking the ground. I'll have to tear it apart one day when its nice and gonna stay nice(warm) for a few days. It's getting ready to turn cold again here. Also the truck is our daily driver.
The camaro has been parked since the 1st of dec. |
