Transmission Crossmember
I am trying to determine which type of crossmember I have. I thought I have a manual trans crossmember since the column on the truck was a 3 on the tree but when looking at some that are for sale on the parts board, mine looks like the auto crossmember. How can I tell the difference between the two?

If it has 2 holes right next to each other in the middle of it, it's an automatic.
If it has two holes much further apart in the middle it a standard.

67-72 trucks didnt have a trans crossmember for the stick shift trucks, the crossmember was at the bellhousing. you can however run the auto crossmember under a 3 spd stick(Saginaw.....that covers the 4 spd saginaw , & the M 20/21/22 Muncie 4 spds also). crazyL
