High Rise Intakes
Hey guys, just curious on this one...the dude that is building me the 71 right now says he has a high riseintake for it..ive seen em before but just those huge air gap ones? are high rise intakes cast and aluminum or just aluminum? can anyone with info onthem fill me in please..and PICS would be awesome too..thanks guys

i'm running an edelbrock victor of some sort...
stock compression, rv cam, ported 882 heads... i don't mind it, it's cool out on the highway, but i think you'd make more torque with an edelbrock performer or performer rpm... really depends on your cam and compression ratio...

It depends on what type of "high-rise" it is. If it is a single plane I would stay away from it for a truck unless you are an all out drag racer. Dual plane intakes make better low end torque right where it's needed for a truck. I have an Edelbrock Perf RPM Q-jet manifold on the 388 in my Suburban.
