Smile A sign from above

Headed for the post office to mail a bill only 1 mile for the house... and behold, the heavens opened up and there it was.... a true sign from above written in blue rattle-can! So what's a guy like me do? I drove [fast] past the post office to the nearest junk yard, hired a wrecker and towed it home. I'll be parting it out slowly. It's a'72 [I think/if I'm wrong please tell me] w/F disks and no AC. The dana rear is mine. Look for it soon on the parts board. Praise the Lord & Pass the Rachet!

I wish people around here were as nice. Are all NWers as nice?I here they are.Such civic spirit.Simply going to mail a bill off turns into a Good Samaratin mission to help a fellow Wa****onian clean-up his property. It would be only rightious for him, now,to return the deed by coming over and helping you strip it,I`m sure he will.In fact, probably bring 1/2 the neighborhood.

I can't believe the thing is not full of crap! I live in a semi-rural area close to the city. People tow their junk truck/van/car/trailer/rv full of rubbish in and dump em with a "free" sign on it. Occasionally I find something I could salvage. So far it has not been worth the trouble of getting rid of the junk though.

Nice find!

I feel bad now....I had a '67 hood that needed minor repair on the lip....it somehow opened up a 5 inch crack??? Could have been welded together. Hood was mostly rust free and very straight, but my truck came with a "perfect" hood so I put it on. I tried to sell the hood for $50 in local autotrader. Not a single call in 3 weeks....sent it to the scrapyard....

Wow! I would of had a full on chubby if I saw that sitting on the side of the road.
Hope you didn't pull any neck muscles when you saw that sitting there.
Also hope you didn't pull a calf muscle when you extended your leg to put the pedal to the floor to get to a towing service.

Hey, I just thought of something.....paint over that bedside and make sure you don't park it near the road....might come home to it missing!

So does anyone have imput on the year? I'm thinking 72 because of the front disks. It was an auto trans/no shifter holes, power steering box it still there. Never saw one with a rear bed/cargo light before, was that an extra or Sawz-all addition? The cab has cancer in the drivers lower front floor, bedsides are dented but useable. There was no vin plate or numbers anywhere that I could find. I'm fixin to tow it around behind the house and away from the road. As soon as I can clean away the grease I'll post on the parts board, and it will be cheap. It's my way of saying thanks to the Board members here who have helped me & shared their knowledge.

In 72 the rear view mirrior was mounted on the windshield if there are no holes above the window it's a 72 it there are mounting holes there it's a 71.

I was thinking '72 was the only year that had those vents in the door jambs under the latches. Maybe '71s had them also?

Blazer, My 71s all have the vents. On this board I read somewhere that 71 was the first year.
