TJ...they didn't fit.
Talk about total bummer...I guess I'll give one to one of the guys at work, and another will go in my dad's boat. |

Hey Longhorn Man, why not build yourself a steel box under the center console with a glove box type lock on the front lid hinged at the bottom? Cover the thing up with carpet and you would have a nice hidden stash box for weapons or a remote CD changer. No sense in wasting all that space.

just a fyi, a lot of cd players will not work at this angle, I tried a few brands before finding out my pioneer would work. Also the deck has a twist style volume, so it is nice to use while resting my arm on the console. easy to do, I later added grey vinal to cover the bolts, also my goal was to take the lid off of another console and cut the tip off and make a cap for the stereo, that way if the truck is to be unattended for a while, just put on the cap and it is stealth |

Looks great to me. Did you just take a chance that they would fit? I looked at five different salvage yards today for a set of buckets. Found a good set in a burb, but they had not gotten the OK to part it out. Probably be gone before I get back. Those guys say that the interiors are they first to go when they get a truck. I think you got a great deal and that they look great!

No TJ..the FREE dual optima batteries I have...get it right man!
That stereo instalation looks nice...I was thinking more allong the lines of in the console...stelth is good, cup holders are good...I'll have to see if my stereo will work in that position. It was another freebie. A dude I know was b!tchin bout his trcuk running like crap and told me he'd give me a detachable face CD player if I could get it running better. 30 seconds later I plugged the power brake hose into the intake and it ran fine. nolowrider. Yeah, i took a chance they would fit. With a flat floor, it's pretty easy to find truck seats that'll fit...and if they don't fit, it is easy to make them fit. |

Ahh. Nice to know those seats fit as advertised. Thanks!
EDIT: Longhornman, after a few days of those seats, what do you think of them? Are they as comfortable as they look in comparison to the stock bench? The seller told me he'll ship to Canada, so I think I'll put a bid in, and I just wanted some last minute confirmation.

After a few days of them, I think they sit in the truck parked in the parking lot as good as any seat. |

I'm assuming he can't use them becouse the floor in the 73 - 87 is so messed up it's unreal. A seat in one of those needs each leg to be a different size from the other. Real PITA

Seats do make up a lot of the ride comfort factor. I have been replacing stock bench seats with those from old Caddys and Buicks. The Caddy 1970 full leather, full power
tilt and elevator is my favorite one that smooths out the bumps. Nice price on the buckets, way better than stock bench I am sure.
