In-Cab Hood release
![]() In case anyone is interested, I made a new thread on the FAQ board on installing a hood release that is In-Cab like today's trucks. Kind of a security feature of sorts. Once installed, the outside latch does not pop the hood. It uses a 1988-1994 hood release cable (Chevy of course).

If you are using it with a billit grill, and can't get your fingers in there, personally, I would go ahead and cut the "J" hook completely off and only use the main latch. That way you only have to pull the release inside to pop the hood, then simply lift without having to still get at the latch. If you cut the "J" hook, just don't pop it on the interstate....whooosh...hood on windshield!!!!

Good idea.....but for those who have a hard time finding things, including me sometimes.
You should have put a link on this thread. Thanks for sharing the info.

I didn't put a link because I swear I read somewhere that "cross-linking' was forbidden. Maybe not. Glad you like the mod. Next I will be working on using the complete latch from a newer truck. They work so much smoother. I will keep you posted on the progress.

I think the cross link deal is more for the guys that will post a "for sale" on all fourms.I think You are all right posting links when asked for help finding something, or what You did, letting everyone know that there is a new FAQ,that can be helpful to someone.
