Question about hooking up stock temp gauge

I am trying to hook up a stock temp gauge in my truck that orginally didnt have that setup, could u please tell me where the wires should go and how i should hook them up to the back of the temp gauge.

one side to fuse panel(gauges--hot only when switch on)--other to sender on motor. Before hooking up sender turn on switch and touch sender wire to ground quickly to see if gauge moves in the right direction--if not reverse wires.
