luv2xclr8's old truck....now my new one!

Well, here I am, the proud owner of a 1970 short-step! Now all I gotta do is ship it to WA She's gonna be a flat black truck, for the rest of her life now, too. got a 1986 TPI motor that's gonna get dropped in as soon as she gets here, and i'm gonn drive it with the wind in my hair.....from the holes in the floorboard. but seriously, my '04 is my daily driver, so i can pull the '70 off the road and do her right.

Glad to see it went (or is going) to a good home. Lucky you got it when you did....he was about to replace the engine and put it back on the road.

Yeah, I was real lucky to get it when I did. I know the only reason he was selling it for the price is because he found that 50th, but I got one heck of a deal on the truck. And now that I have one of my dream trucks, we aren't ever gonna part.

LUV's Truck

Sounds like it's going to a new home that will give it the TLC it needs/deserves.
Have fun.

yes, i know. that TPI motor should be a stout start for Blacky's motor! (well, i have adopted that name from Luv, cuz i'm gonna paint it flat black, so it still fits!) planning on putting a doug nash 4+3 tranny behind it. came in the mid-80s corvettes. called a 4+3 because it is a super t-10 4 speed with a two-speed auto gearbox on the back that gives me overdrive in the top 3 gears. basically, i get 7 forward gears out of the deal! pretty sweet, huh? final ratio is .60, so those 4.11s are gonna stay in the back, cuz they are perfect! great off the line and i can still cruise between 1500 and 2000.

MAN, I MISS THOSE, MY BUDDY HAD ONE IN HIS VET, I PERSONALLY
THOUGHT IT WAS ONE OF THE COOLEST THINGS GM EVER DID TO A
VET, BUT APPARENTLY THEY DIDN'T THINK SO, THAT TURBO 350 IS
WORTH EVERY BIT OF $250.00, MAYBE MORE THAN THAT, SHOULD
BE EASY TO UNLOAD WHEN YOU CONVERT HER OVER TO MANUAL, &
BY THE WAY, SHE WAS A MANUAL TRUCK SO YOU STILL HAVE THE
PEDALS, AND SHE WAS CONVERTED TO FLOOR SHIFT SO YOU ARE
ALREADY SET-UP THERE ALSO, SOUNDS LIKE ONE BAD A$$ RIDE.

yeah, i have a buddy with a '77 SS El Camino, so the th350 is already sold. should be pretty sweet. i plan on putting her as low as i can, too. been talking to XXL about his truck, gonna go as low as his and it's loooooooow. shouold be a lot of fun, but it definately will be a summer only ride up here in wa, if i make it down to cali, though, she'll see the road as a daily driver!

YOU CAN ASK ERIC "CHEVYE" ABOUT HER, SHE'S PRETTY DAMN LOW
RIGHT NOW CONSIDERING SHE HASN'T BEEN NOTCHED, WE HEATED
ALL THE SPRINGS, REMOVED THE STOCK SNUBBERS AND PUT 1/2"
ONES FROM A YOTA ON HER, AND THEN PUT THE 195/50'S ON THE
FRONT AND 235/60'S ON THE REAR (HAD 295/50'S ON REAR)

(LOWER CONTROL ARMS ARE ACTUALLY INVERTED FROM THE ANGLE)

sweet! yeah, i already told you i wanna bag her. we'll see how low she sits when she gets here and i drop the small block in. i do wanna put drop spindles on and convert her to disc in the front. maybe with just drop spindles and bags all around she'll sit as low as i want. that'll save a little green. i think i am gonna need to notch her in the back, though. we'll see, projects are always changing, even after you shell out the money for parts! well, if i change my mind, i definately have a place to sell unwanted parts!
