Wiring???????????
I changed the wiring in my column and now my flashers don't work. The wiring came out of a '7? P.U. and had a flat connector and I spliced in the half moon one that I had. Are there a couple of wires that need to be swapped or what?

I have a spare old-to-new adapter connector. 6 bucks including freight.

I did the same thing when i spliced in my van harness. All the wires were pretty much the same color. The only new wire i had on the van was one for the light bulb

What you did should work. I would suggest going back through the wires and make sure that you have the order of wires and the colors are matched up. As WRMZ71 mentioned the colors are pretty much the same.

When I pull the flasher button there is no action. But, when I step on the brakes both indicators light up on the dash, and still no flash.

When the flashers work they will stop when the brake is depressed and the indicators will light up. They DID work prior to the turn signal switch swap?
Only other thing I can think of is to pull the steering wheel and double check everything to make sure nothing is grounding out that isn't supposed to.
