Small block intakes should all fit the same from 265-SB400, up until around 87 when throttle body injection came out and they changed the angle of the four center bolts. The main thing to watch for is the oil filler, early engines had it on the intake and later they moved it to the valve cover. If you put a later intake on an early engine, you need to use the valve covers with the oil filler holes. Hope that helps.

Yes, It Will Bolt On. The 283 Had An Oil Filler Pipe Going Through The Intake. You Will Have To Fill Through The Valve Covers Or Drill The Intake For The Fill Pipe. If Memory Serves Me This Info Is Correct.

Depends on what kind of intake it is. If it's a GM quadrajet intake, then it'll be a bolt-on. If it's an after-market like a Weiand or Edelbrock or something like that, it's probably a square-bore intake for a Holley or Edelbrock carb. There are adapters to put spread-bore carbs on a square-bore intake. I've never seen a Chevy 307 that came factory with a 4 bbl carb, not to say there is no such thing just never saw one, but someone could have put one on later. I would guess that if a 307 did come with a 4 bbl, it would probably be a q-jet, because 1966(as I recall) was the last year for the old 4-jet. After that they started using the q-jet, and the 307 came out in 1968, replacing the 283. It's very easy to tell a q-jet intake, it has very small primary holes and the secondary holes are huge, about twice the size of the primarys. Just make sure the intake you are talking about is not from an Olds 307, that's a completely different engine and the intake will not swap.

There's no such thing as a 307 4-bbl intake for a Chevy. There is for an Oldsmobile 307 engine, used in the late '70s & early 80s. It won't fit on a Chevy engine.
