front clip?

Is it possible to remove the front clip as one peice? Or do you have to remove everything one peice at a time. some one once told me that there were 7 bolts that held the whole thing on

Yes it can be removed as a unit. Just make sure you get all the wires and hoses disconnected first. The radiator support bolts and the fender to cab bolts are the main ones to remove. Its easier if you take the hood off.

Pulling the front clip sure makes doing seroius engine work easy. That's what I did when I did the swap from I6 to V8. Pay close attention to the body shims so you won't have too much trouble getting it lined up again.

Yep, I have the Longhorn ready to lose its front sheet metal ...that's what I'm doing when the caddy motor goes in.

That is the only way to go when you are doing any engine swaps. It also allows you plenty of room to paint the firewall and the front clip off the truck. Much easier.........JB

I just got done with a cab swap and pulling the front clip as one unit was the easiest part of the whole thing....and I took it off and put it back on all by myself.....one thing I'll warn you about is to keep a close eye on the headlight wiring harness that goes across the radiator support.....if it is hanging loose, it might get hooked on a framehorn and rip the tabs off the back of a headlight like mine did.
