Great, more PO BS... Another in the long string I have found.
Finally got around to pulling the Carter AFB last night, first time since I have owned the Blazer that I gave the carb a closer look. Was told over and over it was a 9605, and since I figured that is the right carb for the motor, I went along with it.
Low and behold, it's a 9503... 500 CFM on a 350. Means I am out of airflow by 5,000 RPMS, not to mention to reduced airflow throughout the useable power band. I have been told and seen that you need at least 600CFM for a 350 to breathe decent. Especially with the Performer intake and headers... Aw well, looks like I will go get an Edelbrock Performer 650 1405 today.

Well on a positive note about putting on the 1405. You should go faster.

I am doing a flamethrower HEI distributor, 600CFM carter +2 stages rich, Hedman hedders and dual 40/50 series flows, Accel 8.8mm wires and plugs all at the same time. Think I will notice a difference?
