question on 73-87 ? low back tuck buckets

hey guys was rummaging through a local yard here in shelbyville and came across about an 85 red gmc short bed with a set of lox back bucket seats in it that looked like they fit like factory , i dont remeber ever seeing one these trucks with buckets in them , they look alot like a 67-72 truck bucket seat , they are low backs with one small little square chrome right in the center of the seat about an inch high , whats yourt guess could they be 67-72 or would they possibly be from a later year truck >?

The square in the uphulstery would seem to date them 73-77. the square measures about an inch or so across, right?

I am 99% positive GM never offered buckets in PU trucks in 1985. I believe the low back buckets stopped in 76, with 77 being the first year for high backs...but not sure when they ended. Just for giggles, look for the floor tabs on the inside front of each seat. IF they (the seats) are factory, these tabs will be welded to the floor and they will be the same color as the truck floor.

Let me know if you plan to go back there. It sounds like someone put 73-76 seats in an 85 truck. I would be interested in the seats, AND the brackets. If they are factory brackets you will need to cut them out. Even if you can't get the brackets, I would still be interested in the seats....

Ken, if you can't find the tabs like pictured above, I can get dimensions from mine so you can make your own.

Could you send me the dimensions for the tabs? I am in the process of installing Blazer seats with Burb sliders in my pickup. I have the Burb tabs, they don't quite fit.

Just to throw my $.02 in. In December I looked at truck that had high back buckets that I believe were factory installed. I don't remember for sure, but I think is was 81-83. I know it was at least 81 and not an 84.

Thanks, Dave

Is that the Foor truck salvage yard near Tower Hill? I have been told about the place but never have went. I live in Effingham and I was thinking about going this week. Do you know of any other good place to get parts in our area?

I don't know if it will have "every" factory option. It still doesn't have cruise control......yet
