What have you done, and what's in the future?

Since you bought your truck, What have you done to it, ( or had done) And what's in the future plans?

Mine reads like a AMT Model. But to hit the highlights of what's done.

I bought it minus engine and tranny, from the local volunteer fire dept.

current engine is a 350, with a 350 turbo. Both worked over.
4:10 rear gears with a Auburn H.D. limited slip
4" front lowered, Spindles, and springs.
6" rear lowered, Flip kit, and "C" sectioned.
Front Disc brake conversion
Ultra 15" wheels, BF Goodrich tires
Carriage works billett grille,
smooth tailgate
all chrome removed, holes welded in
Cab tank removed, replaced with blazer tank.
Autometer behind the dash gauges,
Alpine in Dash CD-receiver,2 Amps, Blaupunkt/MBquarts speakers.
Aries split seat
Remote power door locks
Truck Mega shifter

Things to install I already have.

Install 2800 Stall convertor
dual quad tunnel ram
Caddy deville tailights
Shaved doors and opener kit
front sway bar, new bushings,& mounts for lowered truck

Things to finish or that I'm contemplating.

Leather interior
One piece side glass.
Vinyl tonneau cover
Bed liner
rear chromed sport bumper
Front bumper with fog lights
17" tires and wheels
Converting to Rear trailing arm suspension

Paint,,, maybe someday.

On the K20:

4" lift + new tires and rims
Power Steering
Flatbed

Then went to about 6" lift

Then pulled the 307 and put in the 454 and rust repairs, body work, paint body and frame
went from three on the tree to a 4 speed manual
Now finishing up the hydraulic clutch
Added hydroboost brakes
Adding Carpet
Shaved fuel tank hole, custom FCG tank on flatbed
Added oil cooler and power steering cooler
New wiring harnesses
Now about 10" total lift
new long travel shocks

On the K5:

Replaced all rubber lines
remove and cleaned gas tank
new gas tank rubber lines
will be adding a new rear main seal shortly as the present one destroyed
Taking out incorrect front lift springs and adding correct 4" springs
removing both axles, 8 lug Dana 44 with discs going in front with 14 bolt in back
14 bolt is getting a Detroit locker
new shocks
new rubber brake lines
installed new transfer case as the original was missing

my lofty plans

1 ton BB:

Well...it's a truck so ... I've put in gas and worked it.

Future plans...work it so I can put in gas

3/4 ton 4x4...it has a plow so ... I put in gas and plow drive

Future plans...put in gas, change oil, and park until next winter.

Lets see here. I bought my truck late one evening and the next day i took it to the shop (hanger) and it has been there ever since. Heres what i have gotten done since October:

Everything was stripped from the frame, it was blasted and the frame was painted black.

Relocated the fuel cell to under the bed.

Installed new painless wire harness.

Patched the fuel filler hole and a frenched attena hole the po had. Rebuilt the driprail and had the body work completed on the cab and had it painted.

bought new doors and had them panited and installed.

purchased and installed all new weather stripping, body mounts and groumets.

Installed the one peice window kit.

Fabbed and mounted led sport mirrors.

Made door panels out of honeycomb and fiberglass and covered them in a two tone leather.

Installed a-1 power windows, locks and switches in the doors.

Bought late model power Trailblazer seats and recovered them in the same two tone leather as the door panels. The seats are in the process of having the tracks modified and the cab floor notched so they will fit in there lower.

Painted and installed a truck tilt with billet accesories and apc wheel wrapped in matching leather.

The truck came with a 350/400 that wouldnt stay running more than a few minutes so we tore it down. Rebuilt the carb and added a k&n filter. Replaced the rusted distrubutor with a new msd billet one and coil and wires (the kit). Replaced the plugs and oil pan. Opened up the tranny and changed the plates, fluids and filter. Opened up the worn 4:10 rear and replaced with new 4:10 gears and fluid and cover. Replaced the waterpump and relocated the alternater to the correct side so that the a/c could be reinstalled.

Things that have been done or bought and need to be installed:

The frontend has been blasted, straightened and painted and is ready to install.

ECE 4/6 drop kit w spindles, springs, shocks, super trac bar etc...

Front lowered sway bar.

Stainless steel brake lines.

6lug cross drilled rotors.

20x8.5 and 22x9.5 Eagle alloy Boss 311's with Toyo proxe 255/45/20 and 265/40/22's.

Carriage works billet grill.

Diamond clear headlights.

Modified clear led blinkers.

Custom built aluminum grill.

Autometer phantom gauges and a custom built Avonite gauge bezel.

Smooth tailgate skin with late model handle flip kit.

rear roll pan.

Visors w/ homelink.

Mirror that tells temp and direction.

Alpine type R 5 1/4 comp need to be installed along with Alpine blue head unit and amps and subs.

Carpet and insolation need to be installed.

Things that are in the works but still need to be done.

Dash pad needs to be built and covered.

Headliner mold is pulled but it needs to be glassed and covered.

Speaker box for behind the seat needs to be built and covered.

Kickpanels need to be built and covered.

Center seat/ console needs to be bought, modified and covered.

The bed needs to be blasted, worked, painted and reinstalled.

The rear fender wells need to be tubbed.

The wood bed floor will be raised and i still need to decide on a material to use for the bed floor.

The fron caliper and rear drums need to be painted along with the brake booster and under hood a/c stuff.

Need to buy ece's led tail lights and clear lenses for the rear.

a/c reinstalled.

electric fans installed.

Front bumper.

Im sure ive forgeotten plenty but thats all i can think of off the top of my head right now. I will post the complete build with pictures once i have the project completed. I'm going to try to have it finished within the next two months work permitting.

Got the 72 K20 home on Sunday. Found the seat belts under the seat. Pulled them through and buckled up the kiddos.

Plan to clean her out this weekend and start doing the minor repairs (dash lights, blinkers, taillights, etc.) Truck runs great as is. No leaks on my driveway in the two days I've owned it. PO took really good care of this ride. I'm pleased.

Well, when I got my 3/4 ton, it didn't have an engine so I dropped a 350 in it. Then I replaced the crappy old 'custom' 16.5" wheels for stock steel ones,(16")new mufflers, new bench seat (from a 1990 Chev),with shouilder belts.I've scrounged up a "new" gear set (4.10s) -currently changing out the old 4.57s-made a trade for some "new" inner fenders-thanks avejoe-gotta line on a good rad support, oh and I've got some good trailing arms to put on one of these days-thanks Leroy-Now I just need to spend less time on here and more time working on the truck.I will post pics one of these days.Oh, and I've got a s.m. 465 tranny to go in place of the turbo 400.

Since I bought my truck...it's gotten oil changes, a rebuilt front driveshaft, new front brake hoses, and I put in a slider.

Now it sits.

In addition to the stock axles, I have accumulated an Eaton rear axle with a locker, a spare centersection, a dodge dana 60 front axle in need of a total rebuild, a 14 bolt with a locker, a spare SM465, and 2 spare NP205's...also the stock (grenaded) Rockwell 221 is out, so I should include it in the list. All of these parts are either in the bed of the truck or in the barn. The stock bench seat is now playing the role of spare garage seating, and the cab is full of misc. stuff.

Plans call for an engine swap, stepside bed to replace the fleetside, big tires, and a lift of some sort...but since I am broke as fawk, it ain't happenin soon.

I just put in a set of blazer buckets and did the hood latch mod. In the future I want to put it in the weeds, replace the cab and bed, and have 4 wheel disk brakes. Until then, what ever goofy idea i may have.
