WTB 16'' 8 lug wheels, cheap, NE Ohio

I would like to find a cheap, or reasonable set of 16'' wheels for my 72 3/4. They need not be fancy, plain white stock wheels, or even the newer grey ones with or without center caps. I use this truck as my daily summer driver and to tow my boat.

Nothing wide, I just want to change over to the cheaper (easier to find) 16'' tires.

I would rather find them local so I don't have to pay shipping. Please let me know what you have, how much, and where you are located. I am not in a great hurry, just need them before summer.

I have 4 here off a 97 C2500 truck 8 lug 16 x 7 and can take a trim ring and had the center caps that bolt to the lugs with the black plastic caps,I don't have the rings or caps,$75 + shipping for 4, I will have to check DHL and i am guessing like 20 bucks a wheel to get them there. As they are pretty heavy..Just let me know,Erick

Have you tried Troy Auto Wrecking? If not, maybe 422 Auto Wrecking in Southington? Troy is right on 422, near 44 if memory serves me right? I used to live in Warren, but got smart (and lucky) and moved to S.C.!!!!!!

i would look in the local junk yards on all the trucks and vans. Local yards here will sell you wheels for 10 bucks each, I'm willing to bet you can find similar deals up there.

Bob, just out of curiosity what size center hole do you have on your truck. My 71 has 4 3/4" center and the only ones that size at the junk yard where ford, now I have ford parts on my GMC. I usually pay $10 here in NE WI too.

Tully...while I don't know the sizes off the top of my head, GM 3/4 ton and one ton trucks of this vintage have the smaller hub holes of the big 3. You should be able to use GM wheels, ford or dodge...the two latter would not fit correctly and all the weight of the vehicle would be on the lugs instead of the hub like it is supposed to be.

Andy, the hubs on my 71 GMC K 20 Measure 4 3/4", I have plenty of 16" GM rims around here but they all have 4 1/2" center holes. The only ones I could find at the yard with 4 3/4" were ford. I have two chrysler rims that measure 4 5/8" and I can push them on the front, but they wont go on the back. I asked before why these hubs are so big and nobody knows.

I shelled out $50 for a set of 4 rims with OK tires for my truck, but I haven't even used 'em yet. All I could find at the yard here was FURD rims, they should fit OK right? They're just regular steel rims. Two of 'em were on a '85 Chevy 3/4 ton and it looked like they fit on there good.

That front rotor looks like my 80 burb 3/4 4x4 exactly..Its that same size,I have H2 wheels on it now..

Are the 4wd hubs larger? My truck is a two wheel drive, I'll go out tomorrow night and measure them but my rear axle hub looks like the one in the pic.

I'll check out the boneyards in the next few weeks but it will not be this weekend because I have to go pick up a 86 4wd dump that I bought in NY.

I´m also interested in this. Anyone knows if 4 1/2 center holes would work on a 71 3/4-ton 2 wheel drive?
I don´t have my truck at home so I can´t measure the hubs on it.

My C-30 has 16" wheels listed on the glove box decal. When I took them off and pulled the tires off, I decided to strip them down and repaint before installing new tires. During the paint stripping part, I discovered 2 of the rims had a #ord inside an oval stamped near the stud openings. They fit on the truck and look as original, but now I wonder about the "fit on the stud but not the hub" warning??

All 4 16" wheels on my 72 C/20 are ford rims. They fit fine but I never looked at the size of the hub...
