I'm going with the BB,502/550 will cost about 6500.00$.Plus you get a 1yr.warranty
as long as the engine isn't used for racing.(who's racing, right.there old trucks)But even if thats too much a create SB is still the better deal than rebuild because I haven't found one machine shop that warrantys. The only time I wouldn't do a create motor is if you need a numbers matching

If you can afford the 502, then it's a no-brainer. A 502 should be fine for daily driving and will run on gas straight from the pump. They sound great too.

502. I finally bought one, the Ramjet version though . It took me a long time to decide. like 8 months, but Im glad I went for it. Price out what a good rebuild is going to be, and in my case there was not much difference in the final costs.
I cant wait to get working on it again, so I can hear that baby purr. Good luck with the desicion! |

Gee, when I went from a 327 wild small block to a mild 454 in a 67 camaron, I went from bad to awesome... with half the problems except taking turns fast... but hey its a truck right?

Definitely the 502. If you can afford the Ramjet, I would go with that. Should help out on economy (<---an excuse to give the wife) and it looks cool as hell too!

Well I figure a 502/502 BBC has to be at least 5,000 $ to buy, to rebuild my 350 it would cost (conservativly estimate) 2,000 $ so it would cost less to rebuild the 350, but I would be sacrificing power big time, a 502 would take 92 octane fuel which is expensive, without 92 octane the 502 would not perform as well and would probably have a ping really bad. It's not like I'll be dragracing or anything of that nature, so maybe I'll just soop up he 350 from 255 horsepower to oh say roughly 355 horsepower, that should be good enough for me.
Thank you for all of your imput on my situation.

When I rebuilt my 402 it costed a mint. I could have bought a new 502 but the ### match and that was what I was after. There is no substitute for a Big Block I'm running 3" 3 chamber flowmasters exust with 4" tips. For me there is nothing else. Thats it Raw Power!!!!!!!!!!

The 350 sooped up or not will get better gas mileage but you wont have as much fun
it's really up to you and how much you wanna pay on gas and how much it cost in your area it costs over $2.00 here
