K-10 broke down UGH!!!!!

Last night coming home from my hockey game the K-10 made a big clunk and grinding noise and then nothing! Engine starts and runs fine. I can lock the front up and put it in 4wd and it moves with all kinds of ugly noises. So AAA towed it to my house at 4am. I'm pretty sure the turbo 350 tranny lunched itself. There is red trans fluid spilled on the ground by the radiator inlet lines. I'm not all the good with transmissions so it's going the my mechanic via another tow shortly. I can feel my wallet screaming.....maybe it's time for a new 700R4 in this baby.

That sucks! Did it not drive in 2wd? If so it could be the transfer case or the rear end. I wouldn't think so though with the tranny fluid problem. I hope it doesn't dent the wallet too bad.
Is the 71 driving yet?

K-10 is at my mechanics now...I have tomorrow off and its warm during the day so I'm gonna start more work on the C-10. I should know in a day just what the diagnosis is for the K-10. I'll keep ya posted. Really sucks.

Time to OD! Just try to get a later 700 or a 4L80E would be sweet. Of course the cheap way would be to just swap in another 350TH. Hopefully the case is o.k. and rebuildable.
