Blazer tank and lowered truck?
I want to do the Blazer tank, but I also want to do a rear leaf spring flip, which will take the truck down 5" closer to the pavement. How high will the tank be off the ground? If it is too low I'll just do one or the other. I'd rather be safe than sorry, because a gas tank scraping once in a while is not cool. Thanks!

Blazer tank hangs down 8-9" below frame.

Not at home at the moment, but mine has a 6" rear drop with the blazer tank and run 285/70/15' on the back and have lots of ground clearance. I will get back to you in the morning when I get home with the actual measurment.

Mudpile, if you were still following this thread, I went out before work tonight and stuck a measuring tape under the tank, and it has just about 10 inches of ground clearance from the bottom of the tank to the cement. This is for the metal blazer tank and a 6 inch drop in the rear (ECE)
Hope this helps

Thanks 67shortie, on my LWB 72, I will be doing the leaf spring flip kit which brings the back down about 5". I guess that would mean I will have 11" of clearance. If the gast tank is hitting on something at that height, I have a lot more to worry about than just that. Thanks!

Ummm, I think you will get closer to a 6" drop depending on how many springs you have in that pack. Are you planning on using the stock tank now ? I would keep the tank in cab it I was to do it again. Easy cheep and the resto get's done quicker.

I'm leaning towards the in-cab tank again. Like you say, cheap, fast, easy, plus a sub box will fit under my seat and there is less risk of explosion back there than under the box. And no need to find a fuel filler door and fabricate. Plus at the pumps I won't forget what side to pull up to.
