The final push... Deadline is Friday.
K5 is nearing it's completion after about 4 months! Had a busy weekend. Have an appt at the exhaust shop Friday. Should be fun since I am driving about 13 miles with open headers!
DONE 6" Springs 2" Rear Blocks Ball Joints Tie Rod Ends Drag Link Steering Arm Rebuilt Carter 650 Rem RH Exh manifold Finished building front RH side- (bearings, brakes, etc) Needs to be done by friday- HEI Distributor, plugs & wires Rem LH Exh manifold Bolt on headers Finish building front LH side bleed brakes Dual steering stabilizer Figure out how the HELL I am going to get it out of the garage Should be no problem. Oh, and next time I say the truck is going into the garage for some work, shoot me. Some of the most physically exhausting work I have done on a truck.

We haven't seen pictures in a while. Make sure you take some when it is all done!
How are you going to get it out of the garage? Let some air out of the tires?

Gonna try to air the tires down, if not my neighbor's Suburban is in standby for donor stock wheels/tires.
It is only going to be a matter of 1-2" at most. Hard part is, if I air the tires down, I only want to push it out since I am afraid the torque of driving it with aired down tires will pop the tire off of the bead. I will get more pics soon.

He's on a roll! With the amount of work he has done in the short amount of time, obviously he can't be bothered to slow down and take pictures!
Great job! Looking forward to seeing the finished product. Mike |

When you're all done with your truck, you're more than welcome to come up to Seattle and do some work on my truck.

Ok here's a few random pics I took last weekend to calm your pic lust... Prepare to be underwhelmed...
The new and improved Carter... Guys, take my word, this thing was a disasterous mess when I started. Rebuild kit and sandblasted case later, here it is- Front RH side completed- Rear 2" blocks... Woo hoo... FYI, if anyone needs SQUARE 2" lift u-bolts & hardware, contact me.

Good luck it always seems to end up as much more work than it looks.

Well, distributor, plugs and wires are on... I love how those Accel 8.8 wires look. Didn't get to the steering stabilizer, but I can put that on anytime.
Today I PRAY that I get my spindle studs so I can finish the LH side tonight and bleed the brakes. That leaves tomorrow night for final checks and getting out of the garage, and I think I might pull it off!

Well, ran out of steam, and I won't be able to finish by tomorrow... Delay of game.
I am so tired after hard days work and up til midnight in the garage, that I lost my steam. Gonna have to chill a bit and reattack this weekend. Should be out of garage on Sunday and to Exh shop on Tuesday.

Sometimes coming up for air is a good thing. No need to rush it, double check everything and get it done right. In the scheme of things a couple of extra days won't matter. Although I was hoping you'd make your deadline.
