Will 71 swb fit on tow dolly??
Hey all,
Going down to Ft worth to pick up my new swb but owner prefers that I tow at this time instead of drive due to length of drive. So I have access to dolly but some say it will not fit some say it will. Can anyone say for sure that it will fit, stock truck with eight inch outlaw II on the truck??? Thanks in advanced Dan

Check out my "The Great Saving of a C-30" thread on the 67-72 message board. I did it, and about to do it again from Milwaukee to Green Bay.

I just picked up a 1969 SWB about a month ago. I used a U-HAUL car trailer. My truck has 275/60R15's all the way the around. The problem was the fenders on the trailers. My tires barely sqeezed through. I spun the back tires a lot trying to get it loaded. It was just as difficult to get it off. I used a RYDER trailer a few years back with the same size tires and did not have any difficulties.

dolly
I would measure your tow dolly and have someone measure the truck to be on the safe side. I have a tow dolly that has been widened 3.5 inches per side to fit full size trucks on. I had a 72 K5 Blazer 4x4 with GM 8 inch ralleys and had to swap out the 8 inchers with 6 inchers to get it to fit on the dolly. (in the middle of the night on a dirt road covered in mud with a blown trans...... ya one of those nights)

I fix my 67 on a tow dolly and had about 3/4 of an inch clearance on each side. I'd measure it.
