hey guys, i found a clip for my gmc and im just wondering about the wiring, since im going from 4 headlights to 2 whats going to happen with my wiring? do i need to take the whole wiring harness off the 68 parts truck and swap it on the 71,like the firewall and forward half or....? i just want to have it all worked out so i dont have a bunch of problems during the swap

nope, did this with my 71, it had a GMC front and I swapped a 72 chevy on it. Just taped the two extra high beam connectors off and let them hang.

You might want to check where the headlights mount on the 68 clip vs the 71 GMC because the radiator supports are different where the headlight buckets are located. Also a gravel sheild goes on the bottom of the 68 radiator support between the bumper and the radiator support. I am putting a 68 front clip on a 71 Chevy.

Yeah, if you were going from a 2 light to a 4 light, then you would need the harness from the GMC. Not sure on the headlight plugs tho, becaus ethe chevy are the hi/lo combo lights and the GMC have the 2 hi and 2 lo. But if Jim says he did it, I would beleive him

When i put the chevy clip on my old 69 GMC, all I did was leave the plugs for the inner highbeam hanging there.

I personally like the GMC stylin better than the Chev any day of the week, especially the 67's & 68's. But to each there own, the only downside to the GMC is that I found that a grille is alot more money, but worth it in my books.

Just taped the two extra high beam connectors off and let them hang. __________________ 1970 K25, 8' stepside bed 350/465/205 44 up front, 60 in the rear 4.10s rolling on 33" Dunlop MTs 1986 K5, 350/465/208 Dana 60/14 bolt from a cucv 36" Super Swampers TSL/SX 1983 K20 w/ CUCV axles, 350/700R4/208 sitting on 37" Goodyears 1986 M1031 6.2 diesel, TH400/NP205 locker in the rear and a LS in the front, all stock for now..... 1986 K30, 350/400/205 dana 60 and 14 bolt. I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone. 1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed. 1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm
