Power Brakes for into a '68
I want to add power brakes to my '68. Do I have to scrounge a master cylinder and booster from a 67-72, or can I find these parts on a newer Chevy? What do I have to do to make them fit? Thanks for your help.

I think I would just get the parts from a 67-72. Then it would be mostly a bolt on ordeal.

I used booster, master cyl. and proportioning valve from a 71 chevy p.u. on my 68 but have been told a 73-80 version bolts up. The only diff being a slightly longer thrust rod is needed for 71-72 version.

If you can't find one locally drop me a line. I have several of them in Power Drum or Power Disk, single diaphram or double diaphram boosters, from the brake pedal all the way to the proportioning valve. All were working when pulled, but there is always a chance something has gone bad.

This is one of the greatest improvements you can make to your truck... incredible difference, and very easy to install. Have fun

Your local Advance Auto or Auto Zone carry the booster and master cylinder in stock. I got both for $90. All you need is the bracket and the rod that goes to the pedal. It was a pretty easy swap
