C H E V R O L E T lettering on grill

Hi folks i got a new grill from our local gm dealer im sure its aftermarket with the chevrolet lettering on it and the lettering is black and all that. I got the grill in probly september or october and have washed it a handful of times and the black paint is starting to come off. Now this isn't a big problem cuz i can just repaint it, but what have you guys used or recomend to use so that this doens't happen again.
all help appreciated
thanks
kevin

I think so too. The aftermarket one didn't have the lettering.

You can get aftermarket grills with or without the lettering. But if he bought it from a dealer, I would think it had to be NOS.

I would take off the rest of the paint on the letters, scuff sand it for good adhesion, tape it off and spray it.
I have read that some vendors sell stickers that go in the letter indent, but I don't know this for a fact.

I agree, that paint should stay on there a while.Unless you're scrubbing the grille with sandpaper,or something.

You guys just gave me an idea. I've been making and selling decals on ebay for a few months now. Mostly airplane logos, Waylon decals, etc. Anyway, if anyone would be interested, I could make these letters for the grill. (I hand painted the letters on my grill about 4 years ago). My seller id is "lgb1" on ebay if anyone would like to check out my stuff. If anyone has any other ideas for decals, I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Just scuffing is not enough, get sometype of etching primer to shoot before you repaint. I think the # in krylon is 1613 semi flat black to go back with.
