Suburban at the auction

I went to an auction last weekend to bid on a 71 Chev Surburban. The auctioneer kept saying how rare it was with 3 doors and a "longhorn frame". It was in pretty decent shape with not much rust on it. The interior was nice too, but the third seat was missing. It had A/C but not in the dash, there was a big unit on the roof with vents over each seat. It was factory, listed on the option sheet and the knobs matched the dash. Never seen one of these before, anyone know anything about them?

That was factory ac on burbs until 72 when they swithed to the dash and rear unit. How much did it bring?

I just got a sub with the roof air like your talking about..Is it rare??? it still has pressure. Anybody have some R-12?
Are GMC's called 'Suburban' too?
Also do all A/C subs come with tinted windows all the way around?

Crud.....I thought my "factory tint" was a rare option that would raise the value of my burb into the stratosphere.

I've only got one can of R-12, how many does it take to top off a front and rear AC burb?

The truck sold for $1150. My limit was $1000. I didn't feel bad then, but I'm kicking myself now. It had been sitting for years and needed some work to get back on the road. Also, mice had been inside for a while. They didn't eat the seats but they sure stunk the truck up.
