WTB or trade: drive shaft!
I'm in need of a drive shaft for a 68 w/ a short tail 3 speed coarse spline output shaft.
Measurements of the current drive shaft: from end of fnt yolk to center of rear u-joint: 77.5" from center of fnt u-joint to center fo rear u-joint: 72.75" (someone correct me if i'm wrong) this one is a 2 piece and is useless to me and if anyone wants it it's up for grabs or trade. and what i think i need is about 4 to 7" longer (I'm really not sure) I'd really like a one piece shaft but a dual will due. Imput anyone thanks sswj

Is yours a short bed? I just pulled apart a 68 6cyl 3spd longbed. It has the big spline input.

are you sure it's just right? the inline's were set backward in the compartment more than the V8 so the shafts were shorter. I just moved the tranny up into the V8 position. are you sure?

Do you by chance have the 3 speed bolted by the tailhousing to an automatic crossmember?

Does it have an alumn.bell housing? All trucks 67-72 used the cast iron bellhousing that bolts to the manual crossmember on the bottom with 2 bolts. I think thats the problem you are having. The only driveshaft that is longer is off a longhorn...

Are your motor stands in the front holes or the rear set of holes? If they are in the front holes, they are more that likely 6 cyl stands. And that would explain the 4 inch difference you need? Just trying to help you figure this out,Erick
