SM 420 Question
How hard is a SM 420 to NP205 adapter to find?? I own an 84' and recently swapped out the raggy R4 for a TH350 and am pleased but i still like a manual. I have a 420 with a rockwell T221 T case attached, but dont know much about the T221. I also have a 465 that is missing an input shaft and top cover i could rebuild. I hear the 420 is pretty tuff though. Any suggestions anybody??

very thay were never offered together, in 69 the rockwell was mated to an SM465, then it was sm465 to NP205. The two never crossed. Probably have to call one of the aftermarket adapter people like advanced adapters. Well the 420 was out of production in 1968 time frame, so it's old but still strong. The rockwell would just cost more to rebuild but parts are available if needed. Go w/ the 420/221 or find a 465/205 combo.

Going to replace the flat bed. 1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm |

Yea, ive heard its pretty tuff, I just dont know much about the rockwell and theres not near as much info on it as there is on the 205.

Rockwell
I rebuilt my Rockwell last fall. It is very easy to do. The hardest part was getting together all of the seals. I had to go to 3 or 4 different places to get all the seals together. I pulled it apart, found out what I needed, spent saturday morning chasing parts, and put it back together. Drove her to work Monday morning
As long as you've got the adaptor, put the 420 & 221 in and drive it like you stole it!!
