Replacement dash bulbs?
Where can I purchase replacement dash bulbs locally? Is that something any auto parts store will carry?

Go with LED's. They are brighter and will last alot longer.

wall mart will have them.
194 is what its supposed to have, 168 will be brighter. LEDs are even better, but not real cheap. |

Okay - here's one for you....
I didn't realize the bulbs popped out of the black housing. Went to the store and got the bulbs. I forget the number on them, but they work, so, whatever. I popped the bulb out of the plastic housing. I checked the two tabs on the black housing and bent them up a bit so they would make springier contact (most were almost flat). I popped them back in one by one. All of a sudden, half of the lights in my dash didn't work. The brake light that used to light on crank stopped working. My Generator light started working. The oil pressure light started working. One of the speedo lights stopped working.... All of the bulbs are good and non of the black plastic housings for the bulbs have problems. I blindly rubbed the ring that the two copper tabs on the light housing makes contacts on the printed circuit board and managed to get every single light working on my truck....except maybe one or two. My right blinker refuses to work - but it was working before this whole ordeal (my left wasn't, so I swapped them). Does anyone know what could be causing this? At least the dummy lights work, but I reallly want my blinker lights to work.

i did the same thing here a month ago. Come to find out my circuit board was burned in a few spots from my amp gage. I am guessing when i changed the bulbs out i didn't get the circuits back in the same position and ended up replacing the board itself bout $45 but all works fine now.

I've had this problem before. The cause was not having all of the little black lamp holders turned all of the way in. I located the culprit by reaching under the dash with my panel lights on and fiddleing with them individually. If you're not careful the electrodes on the lamp holders could tear into the printed circuit so bending them might not be a good idea. They fit pretty tight when they are snapped in all the way. Good Luck.
Edit; I just went out and took a picture of mine with 194 bulbs in it. The inside of the housing is painted bright white.
