how to get a title?

I bought a 71 c10 from a guy on this board who failed to provide me with a title, (and didnt tell me that till I was there picking the truck up after a 4 hr drive) He did however give me a bill of sale. The Florida title office says I need the last registration from Alabama and They can re-issue a FL title, But I have not been able to get ahold of this guy to get one (probably doesnt have one anyway) I know there are services who specialize in classic car and truck titles, can anyone help here?

Can you get a copy or verification of the registration from the Alabama DMV? They should have some sort of record of the VIN and who the last registered owner is.

You can purchase another cab complete with a VIN plate and title. I am not going to tell you what to do with the new VIN plate and title, but it has very little to do with the replacement cab

parts trucks are good for more than just parts

If that happens, Bisquik65 has some rivets left that might be of use to you..

Just go to www.broadwaytitle.com, and you'll have the paperwork necessary to get a title in your state.

sorry to butt in on your question, but just so you know, vehicles made prior to 1975 aren't titled in alabama, so there would not be a title for that vehicle.
all i have for my truck is a handwritten bill of sale and a tag receipt to prove ownership. Since the truck has spent its entire life in alabama, no title has ever been issued for my truck.( we won't talk about my "parts" cab from memphis.)

Rennspd - This is actually pretty odd, but I had the 'exact' thing happen to me. I bought a 71 cheyenne from a guy in Alabama, he provided a title but it was from the previous owner who hadn't signed it and was no longer living. He also didin't have a previous registration. The tag office provided me with a form to filll out as a bill of sale from the previous owner that required notorization. It's not hard to find someone that notorizes and anyone can scribble a signature - know what I mean?

My father told me that Alabama did not have car titles til sometime in the mid-70's.

Check the glove box for the registration papers. Alabama requires that you keep the registration in the vehicle.
