Need Build Date for 1972 St. Louis plant

Could some of you with an original 72 Chevy truck and with that build date label on the drivers door from the "St Louis plant" which is the 7th digit and coded "S" give me some info? I am trying to determine what month my truck was built if I were to have that label on the door.

The VIN would be like CCE142 "S" and then the next three numbers of the vin like "131"xxx. If someone has a "1972" truck with that GM door label and from the St. Louis plant, would you mind giving me the date on your label and those first three numbers so I can approximate a time frame for my truck build date? I know they can do this on tri five Chevy's but I have never seen a book on the 72 build numbers.

Thanks
Mark

I will look for you. I have 2 72 chevy's that were produced in St. Louis. The one is CCS142S191899. I have the info for that one here in my office. I know without looking that that truck was built in 7-72. If I look at the engine and axle code it will narrow it to a few days. I thought that General Motors would send you the detailed info on when it was built to the day if you inquire tell them you have a clasic and would like that info I think they will oblige you. I will look at the other 72 chevy and ge back to you. I think it was built in April if I am not mistaken.

Thanks Ozark Tim
I have located a source remaking the label and I need to get him a date pretty promptly so your help really is appreciated. Mine is back at S131510 but if a few guys post we can start identifying months to certain sequence and production numbers. Is the actual build date really supplied for your vehicle in those GM resto packets as I have never ordered one???

The resto packet has no specifics on your vehicle, and I highly doubt they kept those records.
Tell me about the reproduction stickers....where, how much, is this a limited run?

With this one at 116 on say late September 71 and maybe two months production and then your other one in July 72 at 191. Roughly say 7500 to 8000 a month would put mine with 131 at either 11/71 or 12/71. Thanks a lot Dean.

My mistake Dean as ozark tim was the one getting his second 72 numbers. I used his first and yours and came up with that first rough figure.
Thanks
Mar
