Question Toppers on 67-72's?

Just wondering if anyone has ever put a fiberglass topper on their 67-72? I'm not talking about the really crappy old ones, but a newer one (if available). I would think with some good paint, you could get it to look pretty sweet.

Anyone?

Topper on a 69 SWB

I found this used topper a few years ago. Makes a great hunting and fishing truck.

I run a topper on my work truck.
I have had a few but the glasstite is just cab height and the lines seem to fit the truck better

my 84 F150 came with a ghetto aluminum cap, with half the windows broken out. Well, I am NOT going to drive around a truck with one of those things, so I pulled it off and stuck it on my chevy (did it myself, they're pretty light). It looks like it's been there for 30 years...I'm kinda amazed that it looks as good as it does...

I took the shell off mine that came with it. I though it looked horrible with it on. I will save it though, just for whatever time I may wish I had one. I'd use it for that one job and then take it right back off.

I was thinking that a no-window fiberglass topper, flush with the cab roof, could look pretty good if done right. Maybe not...I'm gonna photoshop one and see what it would look like.

Nobody makes them for Longhorns........you should have seen how bad mine looked with the long bed topper on my Longhorn when I bought it.

1-PU70, what make is your topper? I had a Leer on my 72 that had similar side windows and was about 2 inches taller. Would like to get one for my 68. My tonneau has not worked well. Thanks.

I got it used and there is no kind of ID on it. It is for a 80's Ford. They dont make them for our trucks anymore. Check out some topper places they might be able to help. It does overlap on the sids about a inch or so but the front to back is just right. Good luck.

Here are pics of a Leer (100xl?) on a 72 K20 I had.
I still have the topper, and would gladly sell it to anyone that is interested.

It was off a 1995 Ford truck, and fits our trucks very nicely.
