fixing window tracks
The window tracks on my 78 are completley busted. On the drivers side they are laying on the bottem of the door. Is this somthing that can be fixed or do I just need to find some new doors? If its fixable, can I attempt it?

Witch tracks the ones at the back of the window or the one at the bottom of the window. The ones at the back on mine were busted and I welded them. No big deal. There just some spot welds that come lose over time. I just got the felt glass runs for mine today. The frunt I got from Mesa Sales. The rear I got from Brown & Brown Chevy.

its not too bad... if its the rear track... it can be removed by just taking the door panel off, taking out the brace in the door access hole, winding the window totally up, removing and replacing... if its the front track, that's the vent window - the entire door has to come apart to get that out.
i have another set of vent windows, (rebuilt), and an extra pair of rear tracks... PM me if interested. go here for my door internal how to |
