Early 60's suspension swap ?

Does anyone know what the scoop is for swaping a newer disc brake front suspension into an early 60's torsion bar truck? I want to use bags, and I need the disc brakes. Am I better off to go with a subframe swap?

what is the distance from outside of one frame rail to the outisde of the other at the motor mounts ? if its about 34 then you could probably swap a 64-87 front under it, i saw a site couple moinths back that they were talking about how they swapped in a disc brake front off later truck onto their pre-64 truck, from sounds of it it seems its a basically swap on mod on them too.,

good luck
