Rear Flip Kit Towing and Ride Quality?

I just bought a 99 Silverado 2wd 4.8 standard cab SWB. I have been looking at drops. First I wanted the 3/4, but after realizing I could do a 4/6 for cheaper, I got thinking about it. The only thing holding me back is how does a flip kit do towing. I have a tandem axle car hauler and plan on towing that behind the truck on ocasion. I will be adding some airbags on back for extra support, but how does things change when put the axle over the spring. I figured I could buy new spring perches for $13, weld then on the bottom of the spring, and make my own c-notch. Minus shocks, add ubolts and I have $25 in a rear drop, then coils and spindles or a-arms up front. Any opinions on this would be greatly appreciated.

Go with the DJM 4/6 drop. Very reasonably priced. Check around for prices,... But I think Stylin Concepts has a good price. You can search over at www.fullsizechevy.com or www.gmfullsize.com. That's the choice for a cheap static drop. I had one on my old '99 scsb. Skip the "toxic" brand shocks and use Doesche Techs from Summit Racing.

I have hurt bad things about DJM, and also I would much rather do my drop myself, the cheap way. A belltech flip kit is 310.00 at truckperformance.com. Like I said, spring purches for 13, u bolts if neede for 10, and then a c notch. I could make my own or order one for 100.00. The best idea I heard for a c-notch was to cut a 3 1/2 or 4" metal pipe in have and cut the frame and weld that in and box it. But I think that would look cool, but we all know a right angle triangle is the strongest shape. So a tradional c- notch might be what I make

Just purchased a DJM 4/6 kit from Stylinconcepts (thanks to slammed67 for the install ). The kit appears well made-- heavy steel, parts powdercoated, etc. The kit was missing some of the hardware and the instructions are lame (but you probably don't need instructions for a flip kit... it's pretty straightforward).

DJM _thinks_ that their kit is a bolt-on for a Tahoe, but there are several Tahoe-only hurdles to deal with. I called their "Tech" line and was thoroughly unimpressed... all they were willing to do was essentially read the docs. When I pressed them for technical discussion, they fell back on the "we can't discuss that due to legal liability." WTF???

As for Stylinconcepts as the vendor... meh. Very pushy, not very customer-focused (I was a "customer number," press 1, press 2, and so on).

I like stylinconcepts for there catalogs, to see whats new. There prices though seem to be through the roof. Looking at that link right now, there prices are great. I am a guy who would work 10 hours to save 10 bucks, but with these prices, I might just order a kit. Anyone used there stuff before?
