Front drum adjustment?
Is there a hole on the back side of the brake assembly to do the adjustment or is it only possiable to adjust from the outside (drumside)?
oh, how does the self-adjusters work? I just replaced the shoes, wheel cylinders, and rubber hose on both front brakes. thanks sswj

Only from the outside. I thought that was starnge. Mine was the first vehicle I remember ever accessing the adjuster from the front and not the rear of the drum.

i had a Jeep Comanche where on the rear drums we jacked up put it in neutral and rotated the rear tires and were adjusting the shoes as we spun the tires. that's how i remember how we did it.
SO then how are you supposed to adjust them if you can't even have the tire on?? sswj

Self adjusters, as long as installed right and operable adjust when you stop while backing up. Shoes should be adjusted to just rubbing drums, then backed off one half turn of the star nut. Final adjustment can be made by driving in reverse then applying brakes.........do a couple times.
