New Amityville Horror
I noticed in the trailer for the remake that there is a '71 or '72 GMC Suburban that the family drives. Has anyone seen the movie yet? Also, when I was looking for a pic of it online, I discovered some newspaper pics taken after the homicides took place in the house. Kind of creepy, but they show bodies being loaded into what looks like a '67-70 panel!

Wow, seeing those pictures really hits home with me. My 69 burb was Originally outfitted as an ambulance and sold to a New Mexico volunteer fire dept. I have often thought about the trips out on the roads it must have hauled some bodies from accidents. but it must have been to a few crime scenes also. Kinda freaky when you think about it. But it isn't haunted or anything. Actually it is a great old truck and well taken care of. thanks Firemen.

Actually it seems the majority of the movie is based on exaggerated or untrue events. However, there was an entire family murdered in this house in Amityville NY (on Long Island). The oldest son shot and killed his father, mother, two sisters and two brothers. The couple that bought the house after the murders apparently made up the stories of the house being haunted (according to the murderer's attorney, who was in on the plot in an attempt to get a new trial!). A book came out around 1977 claiming that the paranormal events were true, and the original movie soon followed. There is quite a bit of info on the web if you are interested.
