spare tire/gas can rack-mount? got any pics?
where do you all put your spare tires? we got a 1975 gmc jimmy. there is no mount! we now just put the tire behind the seat and tie it down. but then theres no room for coolers/dogs/tools/gas etc. considering its also a 35" tire! i really would like to make or buy a rack of some kind? i would appreciate your input and ideas very much! thank you! have a great day! happy BLAZING! Look at the signature of the guy that started the show me your stuff thread (drink2many?). He has a link to a place in Spokane that I think did a lot of custom bumpers and such. May not be cheap, but the stuff I looked at looked quality.

thank u very much for the help - i just happen to see a old nice jimmy today and it was exactly what i want.
your right its the bumber!huh? i think 1 mounted on the side of the back would break or damage the metal -- too heavy! SO, now i am so happy that i know we r looking for a bumper - gas tank/tire rack-mount? right? thank u all! i am excited! |

if you try to carry a 35" tire on a swing away carrier mounted to the quarter panel, it will eventually come loose and tear the quarter panel up like no other. (voice of experience) Nice Jimmy, BTW.

Yeah I priced one from Kennesaw Mtn. and it came to like 450 bucks. That was with the gas can rack trailer hitch, swing away carrier bumper and recovery hooks all in one. Oh and the license plate lights. I think it's a pretty good deal.

Yeah these are mounted to the frame and won't tear up your quarter panel. I got 35's as well.
