WTB - driver's side rocker box(?) parts

Hey everybody, 1st timer here, looks like a cool & informative group!!

Anyway, I was wondering about a source for the driver's side "rocker box" as I've seen it called in the forum, or what could be described as a cab floor support... Basically the long, box-like structure that runs length-wise with the rocker, tapering up on each end, pretty much stretching to the front & rear wheel-wells... Looks to be made of several parts bolted together, but the main channel appears to be one piece...

Looking at the sheet metal available for the trucks, it seems they are quite a bit different in this area for the Blazers/Jimmys, is this correct?

Alot of the sheet metal from pickups can be made to work with a Blazer.

On my Jimmy project I used the cab bed floor and doors from a 71 Chevy lwb pickup to replace my sheet metal. All of the rocker box pieces are being reproduced with the exception of the side plates.

These rocker boxes were nowhere to found in any of my print or online catalogs, very cool to see they are in fact produced! I don't suppose someone knows of a windshield frame top source as well, eh??

I'll have to do some poking around on the truck's driver side to see what else I need - so far I've picked up a floor pan, floor pan extension, and OEM rocker panel from a local supplier, but I know I need more panels to get everything back up to par...

Are they only called rocker boxes, or do some places call them cab floor supports?

These are what lets you open your doors with the top off,It keeps the body from flexing...Most are rotted and gone, my 72 is in great shape...

OK, from the pics Bisqick65 posted and lookin' at my fairly intact passenger-side rocker box, it looks like I'll need the two pieces that bolt to either end of the driver rocker box as well... then, how does the rocker box attach to the frame/body?

I'd love to replace everything at once in the whole area of the driver floor all the way down to the frame - so far I've ID'd the following panels I need:

- floor pan (have)
- floor pan extension (have)
- rocker panel (have)
- rocker box
- 2 rocker box ends(?)

anything else needed to tie all these parts together? I think I've seen something called an inner rocker panel for like $10?? Everything's rusted through pretty bad in this area, hard to tell what the OEM set-up was...

pics/diagrams would be great, LOL!

There's 3 pieces to the rocker boxes -- the boxes themselves, the endcap you picture, and the piece on the other end. The first two are being reproduced, the third is NOT.

Also, with the rocker box removed you can see that the cab has the regular front and rear cab supports like a pickup. On my Blazer those were pretty well shot, even though the rocker box looked decent.

OK, so I take it only the rocker box and the front rocker box end cap are what's available then?

Interesting about the pickup front & rear cab supports are needed as well, didn't know that...

OK, that leaves me with:

- floor pan (have)
- floor pan extension (have)
- rocker panel (have)
- rocker box
- front rocker box end
- front & rear cab supports
- fabricate rear rocker box end(?)

One more question - what filler panels are needed to join a floor replacement panel (& rear floor extension) to an OEM rocker panel - sizing them up, there appears to be quite a gap in between...

I think Ive got two of those rocker boxes. I need to verify, but Ill give em to you a lot cheaper than what you would pay for new.

you just might have a deal then sir! I don't mind if they're used/slighly dented/surface rusted, as long as they are in good shape (h#ll, mine were almost completely disintegrated!)..

I'm not looking to do a full, perfect restoration - just want to get the ol' girl into a state where she can pass state inspection and be worth putting some new paint on!

Luckily the mechanicals are all in good shape, since the sheetmetal alone is adding up a lot quicker than what I thought originally, LOL!

When I bought my 72, the guy included new rockers, floor panels, quarter panel halves, and these things I think are the rocker boxes. They are definitely aftermarket pieces, not NOS. They dont have that metal rod in them so I question if they are the same as what you are talking about. I will do some research, or see if they have part numbers on them. They are new and have been sitting in my shed for 10 yrs.
