Help with vin# decoding



My vin# is CCS2421144118

can someone help me decode this vin or tell me where to go for some information.

Are you sure it's two C's at the beginning?

C = 4x2
S = 6cyl
2 = ¾ ton
4 = pickup + bed
2 = 1972
1 = assembled in Oshawa
144118 = the assembly line number of your truck

I think this is accurate.

yeah that is what is confusing me their are 2 c's on both the metal tag in the window and the label in the glove box.

That is the first time i have seen an explanation for the 1st C meaning that it is a Chevrolet. Thanks again.

Shifty you got it right but 72 vin's had a 2 C's in the vin up from...the first C was for Chev in 1972...if the first character was a T instead of a C the T stood for GMC... hence a TCE141***** type vin for 72 GMC's.

Thanks guys. Are there any other tricky little things like that in the 67-72 line? I've seen some VINs that people have posted which make no sense at all to me and I dunno how you guys decode them.
