van tilt questions
i got a van tilt i am trying to put in my 67 ,is the splines on the end of the van tilt the same as a truck tilt ? and i need a intermediate shaft that is collapseable
i had one but i lost it and is the intermediate shaft the same for 73 up ? |

The 73 and up PU intermediate shaft and colum shaft are bigger diameter than the van tilt and 67-72 PU. I found this out the hard way - not costly but time wise.

now will the a 67-72 truck intermediate shaft fit the van column?

the splines on van columns are the same as our trucks. i actually think when gm changed to a column with key in 73 they used up all the left over columns in the vans.
the only thing to look for is if the intermediate shaft is for standard or power steering. the splines on the boxes are different diameters. |

i need to look for one thats power then i did the power steering swap back in the early 80s
