I really like it.Got pictures.But,all that description and he skated around any mention of rust:rust-free,professionally executed panel repair,only found minor rust...I`d have to ask why it`s for sale after the brand new work.

The on-board air system sounds cool but.... an a/c compressor is oiled by oil mixed with the freon in a closed system. How could he possibly use an a/c compressor to compress air using an open system without having some oil source or does he... I guess the buyer will just have to get used to filling tires and running air tools with really oil air??

I have locked up a few a/c compressors because I didn't vacuum all of the air out of the system and the oil turns into froth, then you hear the screaching sound of a belt an smell burning rubber!

Feel free to straight me out if I'm totally wrong here!

You use a york a/c compressor.They have an oil sump.Even have a little dipstick to check the oil level.Very little oil will get into the air.You put a seperator after the compressor.A lot of 4 wheelers use them,and if You go to the suspension board,guys are using them on thier lowered and bagged trucks.

Incredible burb! Impressive, for sure. Seems gone thru, mechanically, and it has several mods I intend to do on my K20, especially the lift and rear axle disc brakes. Unusual paint color choice (unique?), but I like how the top's white color does not extend down the back. Now for the nitpicking...

Does the VIN start with a "G"? I looked at the pic of the VIN plate. Why doesn't it have a "K" for 4x4? Or is it a "C", meaning a 2wd that someone converted to 4x4?

Notice the roof air A/C hoses left unconnected? With that much money in the truck, why strip out an A/C system? That would have added at least $1000 to the value, IMO.

Another trophy truck with an old, rusty brake booster & master cyl.

The custom rear bumper should have had a swing-out, spare tire mount added to handle a matching spare. Easy fix.

I wish he would have not set the starting bid so high. Takes all the fun out of it.

I think You are right about it being converted.It is a c in the vin and the front rear was not originaly a disc front.This is a statement from his discription...."The front disc brakes were added in 1998." ...a 71 front would have had the discs from the factory.

To me it would not matter that it was converted.I converted my blue suburban to 4x4.It was hit in the front and twisted the frame.I found a good 4x4 frame,so now it is a 4x4.

Whelp, $11,600 with the reserve still not met. I thought it would have gotten bids for much more, whatever the reserve is. I think the owner should install A/C, preferably with roof air, to get the high bids he's obviously looking for. And install a new, or freshly painted, master and booster. Those two uglied up the engine compartment.

I wonder if the truck's lack of originality affected the bidding. I'd have thought that the fact that the truck is a lifted 4x4 would make any 2wd to 4wd conversion, swapped in axles, or other parts from other trucks make this truck not part of the classic purity crowd's arena. And remember the modified 427 equipped 70 (71?) pickup that went for $22,500? Maybe the Peterbuilt purple was not attractive to potential bidders.

You do all that work to get it your way,you should keep it.To get your money back,be ready to wait for someone with your taste(good,in this case)and the knowledge to appreciate what work and money it would take to produce it.
