How farshould the gas pedal be from the floor?

Far enough so that You can get full throttle.When I bought my '71 suburban,The pedal was to close to the floor.Adjusted the cable to make it shorter,which raised the pedal.The arm that the pedal attatches to,if You look at the plate that holds it to the firewall,has a slot and a pin.The highest You can go is when the pin is at the top of the slot.
