When dinosaurs ruled the Earth and dizzy's had points...

I always heard that if you left your key in the 'on' position with the motor not running it could burn your points-I believe the points had to be closed, but the odds of that are fairly high.

But what about with an HEI? Does it hurt anything to leave the key on? My ignition switch don't have an 'acc' position. Just wondering.
